Winning $1M Powerball Ticket Sold To Lucky Maryland Lottery Player

It wasn’t a $2 billion windfall, but some Maryland Lottery players are still feeling lucky after cashing in big in the latest Powerball drawing, including a seven-figure prize on a ticket sold in Catonsville.

There were nine prizes of at least $50,000 on tickets sold in Maryland, including a $1 million second-tier win in Catonsville.

Powerball players had to wait overnight to get their results, but it was worth it for some in Maryland, where there were nine prizes of at least $50,000 on tickets sold in Maryland, including a $1 million second-tier winner.

In California, one person is holding on to a ticket worth the largest single jackpot prize in lottery history after it swelled to $2.04 billion, with a cash value of $997.6 million, according to lotto officials.

Closer to home, the second-tier winning ticket worth a cool $1 million was sold on the day of the drawing on Monday, Nov. 7 at One Mile Liquor on Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville, where a player matched the first five numbers but narrowly missed out on the jackpot because it did not match the Powerball.

The winning numbers were 10-33-41-47-56 with a Powerball of 10.

There were a total of 22 $1 million prize-winning tickets sold across the country.

Another Maryland Lottery player won a third-tier prize of $50,000 that was doubled to $100,000 because the winner added the Power Play option to the ticket, which was sold Sunday, Nov. 6 at Smallwood Village Exxon located on St. Thomas Drive in Waldorf.

Seven others won $50,000 third-tier prizes in the drawing, but didn’t double down. The tickets were sold:

  • On Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7-Eleven on East Smallwood Drive in Waldorf;
  • On Nov. 5 at Maryland House on I-95 in Aberdeen;
  • On Nov. 6 at Weis Market on Scott Moore Way in Perry Hall;
  • On Nov. 7 at 260 BP on West Chesapeake Beach Road in Dunkirk;
  • On Nov. 7 at White Plains Wine & Spirits on Crain Highway in White Plains;
  • On Nov. 7 at Wawa on South Salisbury Boulevard in Salisbury;
  • On Nov. 7 at Check Cash Depot on Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring.

The odds of matching all six numbers to win the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 25.
